Fillers

Feeling like you have lost volume in your face?  Looking to plump up your cheeks, treat those Marionette lines around your nose and mouth or the loss of volume in your lips or around your mouth, or strengthen your jawline?  A filler treatment may be just what you need.  Let’s talk about fillers.  Most fillers, including the line of filler used at Second Season Wellness, are from the Allergan company and are made from hyaluronic acid. This substance is already found in your body.  It is a substance created and broken down on a regular cycle, but as we age, we lose much more volume than the body can replace.

The filler is used to add volume to the treatment area.  The results of fillers are not permanent, and retreatment is usually needed to maintain your results.  Most treatments last 12 -24 months, depending on which filler is used and which area is treated.  Hyaluronic acid used for volume loss is slightly modified by adding cross-links - which helps create a smooth and hydrated look.  Different levels of cross-links / fillers are chosen depending on the treatment area.

What to Expect

during treatment

Once we decide on the area of concern, the area will be treated with a topical anesthetic to help with the discomfort of the procedure. The filler includes a small amount of lidocaine to help with the pain of the treatment. Once the numbing is complete, usually about 30 minutes, the area is cleaned, and treatment will begin. Most injectables can be completed in 15-60 minutes. The procedure cost includes the consultation, pretreatment, injectable filler, and the expertise of the licensed injector. The price depends on the kind and amount of filler used and will be discussed before any treatment. You can save money on the filler by joining the Alle program and becoming a Second Season Wellness Club member.

You will see some results immediately, but the final results can take about 2 weeks. Results may last one to two years, depending on the formula used and the area treated. You should not receive Juvaderm filler if you have any history of severe allergic reactions to lidocaine or Gram-positive bacterial proteins used to make the filler. Common side effects include redness, bruising, swelling, pain, and tenderness. Minimize exercise, sun or heat exposure, and alcoholic beverages in the first 24 hours.
