Threads

What Are Threads and Their Uses in Aesthetics?

Threads are a type of suture material placed under the skin to help stimulate collagen production and enhance skin structure. They can be used to treat various concerns, including:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles

  • “Eleven” lines between the eyebrows

  • Crow’s feet around the eyes

  • Smoker’s lines around the mouth

  • Nasolabial folds

  • Marionette lines

  • Jowls

  • Sagging skin under the chin

  • Loose skin on the neck

  • Aging skin on the décolleté

Two main types of threads are used in aesthetic procedures: Soft Threads and Lifting Threads.

Soft Threads are designed to improve collagen and skin structure without providing lift.

On the other hand, lifting Threads utilize the same suture material but feature small cogs that engage the tissue beneath the skin to achieve a lifting effect.

The procedure typically takes 15 to 60 minutes and involves numbing and cleaning the area before treatment. The overall cost includes the threads themselves and the provider's expertise and varies based on the treatment area and the number and type of threads used.

Patients may experience some redness, swelling, and minor bruising following the procedure, but these effects usually resolve quickly. Threads are often combined with other treatments, such as Botox and fillers. Most patients require two to three sessions to achieve the desired results, generally lasting around 12 months.

Benefits of

soft threads

Soft threads, or PDO (polydioxanone) threads, are a popular aesthetic treatment used to lift, smooth, and rejuvenate the face and body. Here's what you need to know:

  1. Minimally invasive: Soft threads are inserted under the skin using a fine needle, making it relatively painless.

  2. Quick recovery: Patients can resume their daily activities immediately after the treatment.

  3. Customizable: Soft threads can address various concerns, such as fine lines, wrinkles, sagging skin, and facial asymmetry.

  4. Long-lasting results: Depending on individual factors, the effects of soft threads can last up to 2 years.

How Soft Threads Work

  1. Thread insertion: The PDO threads are inserted under the skin using a fine needle.

  2. Tissue lifting: The threads are gently pulled to lift and reposition the tissue.

  3. Collagen stimulation: The threads stimulate collagen production, which helps to improve skin texture and elasticity.

Common Treatment Areas

  1. Face: Soft threads can lift the eyebrows, define the jawline, and smooth out fine lines and wrinkles.

  2. Neck: Soft threads can help to tighten and lift the neck skin.

  3. Body: Soft threads can improve the arms, legs, and abdomen appearance.

 Important Notes

  1. Call the office to schedule a consultation.

  2. Realistic expectations: Soft threads are not a substitute for surgery; patients should have realistic expectations about the results.

  3. Combination treatments: Soft threads can be combined with other aesthetic treatments, such as fillers, botulinum toxin, and chemical peels, to achieve optimal results.
